Lewis Kaplan

Lewis Kaplan (BS ’58, MS ’60, violin) joined the Pre-College faculty in 1964 and has been on the violin and chamber music faculties since 1976. He is the founder and violinist of the Aeolian Chamber Players, which has commissioned more than 100 works. In 2014, he stepped down as director of the Bowdoin International Music Festival, which he co-founded in 1964. Kaplan is also the founder and director of the new Portland (Maine) Bach Festival, the first season of which begins in June 2016.
