Juilliard Summer Grant recipients in 2009 spanned the globe. João Kouyoumdjian brought guitar classes and performances to São Paulo students. Five students and a recent alum set up an arts camp at a newly opened facility for orphans in Arusha, Tanzania. And five students took part in the Bay Area Tour, an arts outreach program held in the San Francisco Bay Area that brings free interactive performances and arts workshops to underprivileged children and adult health care facilities.
