This year’s Summer Grant recipients were able to give back in a variety of ways. Jessica Pearlman gave a concert to help support the troubled community orchestra in her California hometown. As part of Project Philippines, six Juilliard dancers and a visual artist addressed the lack of arts education in poverty-stricken areas outside Manila. And four dancers, an actor and a jazz musician worked to enrich communities of the Bay area who rarely encountered live concert performances.
