New Staffers at Juilliard

The following people have joined the Juilliard staff during the course of the school year.

Body

Brent Adams is the director of product development and strategic partnerships for Juilliard Global Ventures. He graduated with honors from the University of Mississippi with a degree in finance and economics. Prior to Juilliard, he was director of creative development for a television production company at Warner Brothers while also managing finance, marketing, and partnerships for a national nonprofit scholarship organization. Brent is a lifelong musician and a passionate advocate for the arts.

Krystale Anderson, the new assistant director of financial aid, holds a bachelor’s degree from Marist College and has been helping students finance their educations since 2010. She has worked in many aspects of financial aid including federal work study, default management, and private educational lending. She enjoys traveling and baking, is an avid reader, and is the best fur mommy to her cat, Apollo Anderson.

Seth Baer (MM ’05, bassoon) is senior manager for global K-12 programs for Juilliard Global Ventures. A passionate performer and music educator, he is a founding member of Decoda, an alumnus of Ensemble ACJW, and a member of the Princeton Symphony. He received his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.

Brian Bahe, the new administrative assistant in Liberal Arts, is originally from Phoenix and graduated from Arizona State University with degrees in English and psychology.

Edda Baruch, office manager in the costume shop, is thrilled to return to the Juilliard community as a full-time staff member. After graduating from Boston University, she was a stage manager in the Juilliard Professional Intern Program, and she’s currently a stage manager at Punchdrunk theater company’s Sleep No More at the McKittrick Hotel in New York City.

Rodsdale Browne has joined Facilities as a security officer.

Gena Chavez, the managing director of The Tianjin Juilliard School, was most recently a general manager of Broadway Asia International, a producing and management firm for Broadway musicals and international events. She’s also worked at Columbia University and the Asia Society. Gena has a BA in East Asian studies from Colby College, a certificate in Chinese studies from Johns Hopkins and Nanjing universities, and a master’s in Chinese studies from the University of London.

Natalie Delgado is the new administrative coordinator in the Evening Division. A graduate of Kingston University in London and Montclair State University, Natalie is an oboist and tristate-area native who loves meeting new people and traveling and has a deep passion for politics and the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Melissa Espinar joined Facilities as a security officer. She is a huge sports fan and loves listening to ’80s and ’90s music. Her happiest moments are during family time, when she is playing basketball with her son or cooking with her fiancé.

Yue Fang, the Chinese translation specialist for Juilliard Global Ventures, is a native Mandarin speaker who graduated from Bank Street College of Education with a master’s in leadership in community-based learning. She’s also a pianist and has worked in project management on audiovisual integration and technology design at Moey Inc., HBO, the United Nations, the American Museum of Natural History, and EdLab at Teachers College.

Lindsay Garber is the new box office assistant in Concert Operations.

Nieves Garcia has joined Facilities as a cleaner.

Becki Heller, managing director of marketing and communications for Juilliard Global Ventures, has spent 14 years building and marketing digital products. She was the digital marketing director for Syfy with NBCUniversal and a digital director at Saatchi & Saatchi focusing on Procter and Gamble’s Tide account. She loves books, theater, and music.

Ethan Helm, the new senior circulation administrator in the library, studied jazz at the Eastman School of Music and New York University. When not in the library, he performs and composes for a variety of groups in N.Y.C. and beyond, but his true passion is watching The Simpsons.

Walker Higgins, media production assistant for Juilliard Global Ventures, is a Manhattan native and a graduate of SUNY Purchase’s film conservatory who loves making films and videos, and promoting the arts.

Jessica Hoffman has joined Development and Public Affairs as the database manager.

Byron Hunt, the new lead carpenter in the scene shop, hails from Nebraska, where he earned his BFA in technical theater from the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts. His previous professional work includes five years as the mainstage carpenter for the Barter Theatre, stage staff for Royal Caribbean Cruises, and a stagehand at Santa Fe Opera.

Mason Kinkead is the new administrative associate in Community Engagement. Originally from Boston, he graduated from Walnut Hill School for the Arts, has a bachelor’s in vocal performance from McGill University, and has been an active member in the performing arts community for many years.

Suhaila Meera is the development associate for annual giving. She holds a bachelor’s from Cornell University and spent the year after graduation handling the digital marketing for a Delhi-based arts management firm. Most recently, she worked in operations and development at Girls Write Now. She loves dance, theater, and all things Bollywood.

Meg Popick has become the assistant director of international advisement. Prior to joining the Juilliard staff, Meg worked as an international student advisor at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and Boston College. She has a bachelor’s degree from Fairfield University and a master’s degree from Boston College, where she studied higher education administration with a concentration in international education.

Carlvin Sanon, the production and library manager for Juilliard Jazz, received a BA in music from Colby College, where he was the orchestra manager, a physics research assistant, and a drummer and percussionist for numerous ensembles and groups. Originally from Hartford, he enjoys listening to undiscovered albums, reading about the social history and neurology of music, playing the drums and guitar, watching, discussing/analyzing, and playing basketball and football, and devouring all the food he can find or make.

Kate Satin joins Enrollment Management and Student Development as Title IX coordinator. Before coming to Juilliard, she worked at the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office as an assistant district attorney in the Child Abuse/Sex Crimes Bureau. A lifelong New Yorker, Kate graduated from Columbia University, where she studied political science, and Brooklyn Law School.

Charles Sheek, program editor, a native of North Carolina, was a dance major at U.N.C. School of the Arts and graduated from U.N.C. Charlotte with a bachelor’s in English. Following his career as a professional dancer, he spent more than 30 years working for the Metropolitan Opera in the marketing, press, and editorial departments. From 2006 through 2015, he was also the house programs editor for the Lincoln Center Festival.

Katie Simpson has joined Human Resources as the administrative assistant and is thrilled to be a part of the Juilliard community. She comes from the world of talent agencies and casting offices, and as such, is an avid fan of film and theater (particularly musicals). A graduate of Wellesley College, Katie is a New Englander at heart and loves all things autumnal.

Emilia Tamburri (MM ’09, composition), the administrative assistant in the Alan D. Marks Center for Career Services and Entrepreneurship, earned her BM from the New England Conservatory. She holds a part-time position teaching preschool at the Rutgers Community Center, enjoys volunteering as a peer counselor and watching baseball, and is looking forward to running the New York Marathon in 2016.

Erin Tasman, the new controller, is from Atlanta and received her bachelor’s degree in international business from Rhodes College and her master’s in accountancy from the University of Virginia. Prior to Juilliard, she worked for Ernst & Young and as the senior director of finance for the Rheumatology Research Foundation and American College of Rheumatology. She enjoys the unique access to culture that employment at Juilliard provides and also exploring her new city with her beloved dog, Dobe, and friends.

Sandra Velasquez, the Dance Division coordinator, is a California native who moved to New York City in 1999 to pursue her passion for music. A bandleader and songwriter for several projects, Sandra has toured internationally, performed at venues such as Town Hall and Central Park Summerstage, and been featured on NPR five times. She holds a BFA from California Institute of the Arts and a master’s from New York University. She lives in Brooklyn with her daughter and loves to cook.

Annelise Wiering, the administrative assistant in Historical Performance, holds degrees in violin performance and arts administration from Illinois State University and Boston University, respectively. She has completed internships with the Boston Pops, the New York String Orchestra Seminar, and the Silk Road Project and has experience in a number of arts arenas, including artist hospitality, production, ensemble management, ticketing, and development.

Emily Wozniak, major gifts officer, most recently worked in development at the Eastman School of Music, where she also taught in the arts leadership program. She’s also worked at the Aspen Music Festival and School and presented research at Yale, the University of Exeter, and Chamber Music America. She holds a master’s degree and arts leadership certificate from Eastman, where she studied horn performance and music education. A St. Louis native, she’s thrilled to live and work in New York City.

Mary Yeatts, associate director of major gifts, comes to Juilliard from Columbia’s Graduate School of Architecture, where she was a major gifts officer. Originally from Warwickshire, England, she has a degree in arts management from the University of Greenwich in London and has worked in development for arts organizations/higher education her whole career, most recently at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She’s expecting twins in July.
