Title
José Rivera's Marisol, which won a 1993 Obie and is this month's fourth-year play, takes place in a postapocalyptic New York City in which a lonely few struggle to find humanity and compassion. Marisol 's "juicy, diverse roles and dream-nightmare depiction of New York City” are two of the reasons it was selected as one of the soon-to-be-graduates' showcase performances, says Richard Feldman, acting director of the Drama Division. Another is the fact that “it's by one of America's most important contemporary writers, and we've never done a full production of one of his plays before.”
