Juilliard was well represented in nominations for the 2015 Emmy Awards, which were announced in July in Los Angeles.
Christine Baranski (Group 3) was doubly nominated for her supporting actress work on The Good Wife and a guest appearance on The Big Bang Theory. Andre Braugher (Group 17) was nominated for his work on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Viola Davis (Group 22) was nominated for her lead role on How to Get Away With Murder. Adam Driver (Group 38) received a nod for his work on Girls. For the second year in a row, Kevin Spacey (Group 12) was nominated for his lead role on House of Cards. Bradley Whitford (Group 14) was recognized for his guest role on Transparent, and Finn Wittrock (Group 37) was nominated for his supporting role on American Horror Story: Freak Show. House of Cards was also nominated for best drama series; Beau Willimon, a 2008 graduate of the Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program at Juilliard, is the show’s head writer and showrunner. And Matthew Sklar (Pre-College ’91) received an oustanding-music-direction Emmy nomination for the NBC stop-motion animated NBC special Elf: Buddy's Musical Christmas. Congrats to all for your nominations!
